It’s strange to hear your thoughts, when you’re not the one saying them.
Today I had lunch with a friend I haven’t spent time with in years. The conversation turned to music and Bob Dylan, and he made the point that Dylan’s work has made such an impact and lasted so long because it tapped into the human psyche, and those truths are timeless.
On Monday I posted a new Talking Tracks podcast where I made that exact point about Joni Mitchell.
From different paths, we arrived at the same point. Like a good book or a good song, a good conversation offers a moment to say, “Thank God– I thought I was the only one.”
